Review: Very.com Sequin Dress and Platform Sandals

I’ll skip Christmas and go straight to New Year’s Eve in this dress.

Oh yes, I’m totally lovin’ the sequins trend this year. If it’s shiny, sparkly, or glittery…I want! Go bold and beautiful because it’s the holidays, so let loose!

Life’s too short to be a wallflower forever.

Review: J.Crew Cable V-neck Sweater

What do you think? Is this sweater a keeper?

I picked up the J.Crew sweater in forest green soon after writing this post. The cable pattern, the soft material, and the deep saturated color beckoned me in.

Snowboard Gear for Petites: Eddie Bauer

I don't have traditional Thanksgivings. For several years, I spent it on the slopes when my parents were avid skiers.

This year, I'm starting to look for new snowboard pants and jacket because I don't want to look like a little kid anymore. Most of my friends stay true to The North Face orBurton for their gear. Alli of Ski Petite has some great recommendations for ski gear and pants too.

Two years ago, I did a petite guide to snowboard gear. It was really general and petite sizes were pretty much non-existent. But a lot has changed and I recently discovered that Eddie Bauer has a petite department. I scoured the site and found a petite snow outfit to try in XSP.

Brown It Out - 70's Secretary

'Tis the season for sweaters, jackets, and coats!

I'm sure you'll be seeing my entire outerwear collection for the next few months...it's my shopping kryptonite. Though I don't spend a lot of money on fancy jackets, I definitely have more than my fair share. In SF, chic jackets are a must!

Classic with an Edge

When it comes to pencil skirts, it seems like it'd be one of the easiest pieces to wear.

I find it a challenge since they are usually shapeless while A-line or flared skirts are more flattering for my frame. Somehow, half of my skirt collection consists of pencil skirts so instead of getting rid of them, I'm going to wear them more this year.

Eggplants and Trenches

Ever since I started my closet re-vamp, it feels like I'm starting from the ground up with classic staples.

I've been coveting a trench coat for the longest time but a Burberry one is currently out of my reach. So I focused my attention on more attainable purchases.

Navy Prep

They often say that black looks good on everyone, but actually, it's navy.

Even Kate Middleton agrees since she wore this classic hue in several of her outfits during the royal trip overseas.

We are the Legion

It's Friday and though the weekend is on its way, I feel like I'm heading into overdrive. Where does time go?

I recently checked into my charging station for some inspiration at the Legion of Honor, a museum perched at Land's End with a beautiful view of the Golden Gate Bridge and luscious golf greens. There, I immersed myself in a world filled with delicate sculptures, masterful paintings, and classical architecture that reinvigorated my appreciation for art, beauty, and creativity.

Favorites for a Reason

Despite my penchant for new novelties, I’m a creature of habit.

I wear the same outfits over and over that I don’t feature them on my blog too often. I keep thinking that you’ve already seen it already and who wants to see the same thing every week?

Styling Chambray: With Brights

Oh chambray. I will never tire of you as a summer staple but it's time for your summer sendoff. What better way to transition into autumn than with a bright pop of color?!

Ready for Fall: Karen Kane

We are about a month away from the official end of summer and I'm ready for fall. As much as I love the sunny warmth, I crave the crisp chill in the early mornings.

With that in mind, I have a transitional outfit featuring Karen Kane!

Color Blocking: Faux Complementary

When it comes to complementary colors, the most notable pairing is red + green.

Usually, these colors remind me of the winter holidays so instead, I created a softer look with muted red and green shades. A more harmonious color scheme is easier to adopt that the strict tomato red and bright spinach green combination.

Day 11: CoastalAccess Vistas

Along the freeways, I pass by vista points everyday and I’ve always wondered what the view must look like. So one day, I stopped at one and the view was breathtaking! This detour reminded to appreciate the little things since you never know what the day may bring.

Day 3-5: Heat Waves

Here's a mini-recap of my outfits this week. I haven't mastered the skill of taking photos everyday, so if I do document my outfit, it will count towards the 30 for 30 challenge. I'll probably be wearing repeats but you won't see them since I won't be taking pictures of those looks.

Day 2: Blocks of Color and Body Talk

I'm a little slow updating photos for the 30 for 30 challenge, but I assure you, I'm wearing my 30 items!

The summer heat has arrived in full force and I'm loving every minute of it. Sure, it's blazing hot outside and all I want to do is lay down on the cool marble floors with some frozen watermelon and indulge in lemon sorbet all day long, but I do want to get a little color on my skin.

30 for 30 - Round 2

It's summer and it's time for the 30 for 30 Remix Challenge again!

I participated last season and I'm back for more. For this round, I selected several items that I've been itching to wear but I didn't quite check to make sure everything goes together, so it's going to be interesting to see what outfits I can create from this eclectic selection. Instead of photos, I have a video of my 30 items. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Styling Chambray - To the Maxi

Maxi dresses + Petites = ?

Yes, petites CAN wear maxi dresses and it can look quite flattering too. Last year, I wrote about some general guidelines for selecting a maxi dress for petites. This year, I found a maxi dress with a unique graphic print. Pairing it with a chambray top only enhances the summertime look.

Check out other ways to style the chambray top here.

Styling Chambray - Preppy 'n Petite

Preppy is not my forte.

When I think of chambray mixing with high society elites, I am instantly drawn to the signature styles of Carolina Herrera, Salvatore Ferragamo, and Oscar De La Renta. Sure, they tend to skew towards the older crowd, but there's nothing wrong with taking cues from these iconic taste-makers.

Styling Chambray - Nineties Nooners

Casual looks for chambray are probably the easiest way to look stylish.

The fabric has a natural ease and warmth that makes it the perfect cover-up for festivals. From music to art and everything in between, there's nothing quite like open air events to bring out the bohemian in us all.
